Srinivas University Annual Athletic Meet

The much awaited Srinivas University Annual Athletic Meet was held on Saturday 08th February 2020, at Police Ground, Pandeshwara, Mangaluru with great excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The Programme began with the Guest of Honor Dr. A Srinivas Rao, (Vice President, A Shama Rao Foundation & Pro-Chancellor, Srinivas University) welcoming the esteemed gathering and emphasized on the importance of sports in day to day life. The Inaugurator, Sri. Sudhakara Joshi (Advocate & Member, Board of Governors, Srinivas University, Mangaluru), and Vice Chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr. P. S. Aithal also took the salute of the impressive March Past of the students, coupled with some stirring marching music by the band.

The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Sports captain. An energizing equestrian display set the tone for the rest of the event. The students displayed a March fast, mesmerizing the audience with their coordination and energetic performances. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes.

Students of various Departments competed in events including Sprints i.e. 100Mtrs, 200Mts, 400Mtrs, 800Mtrs and 1500Mts, Relays, Long Jump, High Jump, Discuss Throw, and Shot-put. Fun time with a staff relay between the various departments added to the enjoyment.
